In July, we received the news that Korea's treasure and the 2010 Vancouver Olympic figure skating gold medalist, Yuna Kim,
had been named as an international goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, becoming the first female athlete and the first Korean to hold this title.
Note: ‘Seung-Nyang-E (승냥이)’ is a Korean wolf, otherwise known as dhole or cuon alpinus. It is not a name of a specific fan club.
It is more of a nickname; anyone who is a fan of Yuna Kim can be called a ‘Seung-Nyang-E’.

The first was to send \9095 (aprx. $7.77 USD) accompanied by a 6 letter message of love to Yuna.

Being well-aware of the overflowing of love and generosity that our members have shown in the past,
we set the bar high for our daily wire transfer limit , but as always, the outcome surpassed our highest expectations.
All of the money that was raised was sent to UNICEF to help the children who are suffering from the Haiti earthquake and the Pakistan floods.
Note: After the hearing that Yuna Kim had been named UNICEF’s International Goodwill Ambassador,
many of Yuna’s fan sites began a fundraiser in commemoration of her birthday, September 5th.
Each site had a different method of fundraising.

After this surprising discovery, k****** contacted Jung******** and received the following answer.
I wrote this as a comment under the ‘free talk’ post but many people asked me to write it as a new post so here it is!
I go to the same church with Jung******** from Nonghyup bank, the guy who printed out our fund-raising bank books.
I sent him a message through N*** saying that I saw his comment posted on a fan forum of Yuna's.
I told him that I was a member of that forum and asked if it really was him that printed out our bank books:
"Why didn’t you mention this to me? I was one of those numerous participants lol."
And I got this reply:
"LOL
Actually, I did think of you during those 10 minutes haha.
I knew you would've been one of them!
I always knew that you were a Yuna fanatic but I guess the old adage does rule true:
Birds of a feather indeed flock together lol.”
These were his exact words LOL. I guess he had a first-hand experience of this crazy passion that we have for Yuna!

Members of Fevers had a good laugh over this funny coincidence. It certainly is a small world after all!

In an interview for a fashion magazine in February 2010,
Yuna was asked what her favorite compliment was.
And to this she answered,
“I would like to be remembered as someone's 'Favorite Skater,' not just in the present,
but in the future as well, years and years down the road."
This interview swept up Feverskating in a frenzy and had a significant impact.
‘My Favorite Skater’ was used in numerous support banners and in main graphic designs for the website.
For this reason, ‘My Favorite Skater’ was selected as the title/theme of Yuna's fan-made birthday video clip.
There were many candidates for the title but ‘My Favorite Skater’ received the most votes.
The 'My Favorite Skater' project asked fans to take a picture of this phrase with no particular restriction on the formation or the medium.
At first, this project was carried out within the members of Feverskating but a few days before the deadline,
it was introduced to fans outside of Korea and thankfully enough, we received many pictures from fans all over the world.
Thanks to their support and participation, this project was able to become a much more meaningful birthday present than we had anticipated.
Starting with Korea’s Feverskating members, fans from all around the world participated in this project, including, but not limited to,
Italy, Belgium, Bulgaria, U.S.A., Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, China, Taiwan, and Japan.
A total of 360 people sent 705 pictures to Feverskating, making it a big success.

Yuna Kim was born in South Korea on September 5th, 1990.
Feverskating, a place where people who love Yuna are gathered, prepared a birthday event for Yuna’s very special 21st birthday.
Note: According to the western age counting system it is Yuna's 20st birthday.
In Korea a newborn baby is considered to be a year old and one becomes a year older on the passing of the lunar New Years day, not by their birthday.
This creates an age difference of a year or two (depending on whether his/her birthday has passed or not) when compared to the western style of counting age.

We wish for Yuna to keep on smiling and to never lose her bright laughter.
We want Yuna to remember how special she is to us fans; that during difficult times when we are down,

Given the fact that Feverskating is made up of fans who adore Yuna, we decided to collect money to donate to UNICEF.
As a birthday present for Yuna, the UNICEF fund-raiser was held from August 19 to September 4, with two different ways to participate.
The first was to send \9095 (aprx. $7.77 USD) accompanied by a 6 letter message of love to Yuna.
The number 9095 was to signify Yuna’s birthday. (1990.09.05)
A total of \7,660,750 (aprx. $6,540.94 USD) was collected through this ‘Message Donation.’

Another way to participate was through a ‘No message - Restriction free’ donation.
Unlike the message donation which had a set donation amount of \9,095,
this donation account did not have a set limit and was also sent without a personal message to Yuna.

Many members sent their love, whether small or big, and in the end, the thought and the love behind it held a much bigger value than the amount itself.
A total of \8,190,202 (aprx. $6,993.00 USD) was raised through this account.
The final total of the two fund-raising accounts came out to be \15,850,952 (aprx. $13,533.94 USD).
On September 5th, we wire transferred \15,000,000 (aprx. $12,807.38 USD) under the name <Feverskating> to UNICEF.

There was a commotion caused by a comment that had been left under a news article concerning the UNICEF donation of Yuna’s fans.
A person identifying himself as a bank worker had written a comment on a well-known website (N***),
where comments are posted under the legal name of the commenter.

I work for Nonghyup bank and a lady came up to me the other day with a bank book in her hand and said that she needed me to update it.
When I looked up the account, I found that there were 850 transactions that had to be printed out.
I told her that if she updated it, we would have to print out a total of 7 bank books and asked if she really needed me to print them all.
She said that the bank books would be sent to Kim Yuna so she needed all of the transactions to be printed.
It took me over ten minutes just to print those out. I wonder if Yuna has received it yet?
A member of Fevers recognized the writer of that comment and said, “I know him!”

Yuna had mentioned that her gala ‘Meditation from Thais’ held the meaning of her expression of gratitude to her fans.
We selected ‘Meditation from Thais’ as the background music for this video project for the same reason: to express our thanks to Yuna.
