※ NOTE: "Chuseok" is a major Korean traditional holiday and is celebrated on the 15th of August on the lunar calendar. Chuseok is known as the Thanksgiving Day of Korea, and on this day, Koreans make "Songpyeon" and use ripe fruit and other harvest crops to perform rituals showing respect and thanks to their ancestors. Songpyeon is a crescent-shaped rice cake made of glutinous rice, filled with sweet red bean paste, sesame seeds, chestnuts, red dates, and is steamed over a layer of fresh pine needles.
