Yuna Kim's classics albums released by Universal Music are making headlines again after surpassing the 100,000 mark in sales.Known to have a fine taste in music selections for her figure skating programs, Kim's music pieces have always attracted as much attention as her figure skating programs themselves. These musical selections have been compiled and released into 4 different albums as of date: Fairy on the Ice (2008), Fairy on the Ice (2009), The Queen on Ice (2011), and The Queen on Ice: The Classics Best Album (2014).
These albums have been long adored by fans, containing the music selections for some of Kim's signature figure skating programs, including "The Lark Ascending" by Vaughan Williams and "Danse Macabre" by Camille Saint Saens, along with some of Kim's personal favorites. Her first album in particular, Fairy on the Ice (2008), scored a platinum hit within the first month of its release. Kim has also released a few singles over the years, including a duet with R&B singer Lena Park ("Dream of Winter") and the two classical pieces from her 2014 Olympic programs, Stephen Sondheim's "Send in the Clowns" and Astor Piazolla's "Adios Nonino."In regards to her albums reaching a combined sales of 100,000, Kim said, "I never even imagined these albums would be such a hit. I received so much love and support during my figure skating career, but for my fans to love even just the music for my programs, that's incredible and I'm very grateful. I want to thank all my fans who have supported me over the years."
